Why do eyes get red from crying

When you cry, the fluid making up the tears has to come from somewhere. The reason for this is a little more complicated and rooted in the sympathetic nervous system, the part of our nervous system that is activated in stressful situations.
When we experience danger, anger or fear, we experience a fight or flight response. OK, now, why when we are crying. Our pupils dilate, our muscles tense up and our heart rate increases. How do i get my eyes back to being white.
Also, what can i do to get rid of the red puffiness around my eyes. The result, unfortunately, is a sick looking, mis. Crying causes a similar reaction, it increases our blood flow and puts a strain on the facial muscles.
